Epic Canadian Ride
One Country. One Ride. One Cause.
About the Team
Eric Paton — adventurer, author, and recently retired partner from a national accounting firm — wasn’t ready to slow down. After decades in a high-performance career, he knew he had more to give… and more to discover.
In 2024, Eric set out alone to cycle across Canada — over 8,000 kilometres from coast to coast. What he found along the way wasn’t just a physical challenge, but a deep and lasting connection to this country he’s proud to call home.
Through small towns, big cities, and quiet stretches of road, he experienced the kindness, resilience, and spirit that define Canada — the kind of moments you don’t forget, and the kind that stay with you long after the ride is over.
He wrote Live the Dash to capture that journey — a story about pushing beyond limits, and about falling in love with this country in a whole new way.
But the ride also revealed something harder to ignore.
Across Canada, too many people are still held back by hunger.
And that didn’t sit right.
So he’s riding again.
This time, it’s not just about the journey — it’s about giving back to the country that gave him so much.
Eric is taking on another cross-Canada ride to raise awareness and funds for Food Banks Canada, with a goal of $500,000 — helping provide approximately 1 million meals.
Because he believes Canada is at its best when we show up for each other.
And this ride is about doing exactly that — from coast to coast.
